Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars - This kind of mast consists pf three parts as the name implies. The outside section is attached firmly to the lift vehicle. The next section telescopes inside the mounted outside section and the interior most section telescopes in the intermediate part. Both the middle and the inner section raise and the lift cylinders lengthen. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides in the internal section. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height as opposed to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas like for instance doorways where overhead clearances are limited. This particular mast is often equipped with a center cylinder to let the fork carriage elevate several distance before the mast parts start lengthening.
There are two main sections in a 2 Stage Mast. The outer part of the mast is connected to the lift vehicle. The internal section sits inside the external section and elevates when the cylinders lengthen. The fork carriage is located in the internal section. This mast type has a taller lowered height as opposed to an equivalent 3 stage mast or lift height quad mast.
